I have been posting excerpts from Alma Mahler’s book of letters. It is with great thanks to her that I have been able to learn so much about Mahler’s life, from these letters and writings. While she is well known as Gustav’s wife, few people realize that she also studied composition herself. She was actually a student of Zemlinsky!
